A "discovery museum" for young people, families and foreign visitors, founded in 2007 by the Thai government around a "PLEARN" (play + learn) philosophy. Its main exhibition covers the social history of Thailand, supplemented by temporary shows ("Beads of Southeast Asia," "The Portuguese: At World's End," "The Body Project: Rethinking the Concepts of Beauty," among others) and a nationwide network of partner museums.

Rather than treasure collections, Museum Siam draws crowds through knowledge-based activities, hosting 1,000-2,000 visitors daily and ranking as Thailand's most-followed public education service on Facebook. Two mobile museums tour the country, supported by partnerships across many organisations and the business sector.
