Professor of Art Studies at the University of the Philippines and Curator of the Vargas Museum, Manila; also Adjunct Curator at the National Art Gallery, Singapore. Co-curated "Under Construction: New Dimensions in Asian Art" (2000) and the Gwangju Biennale (2008). Visiting Fellow at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. (1999) and Asian Public Intellectuals Fellow (2004). Publications include "Painting History: Revisions in Philippine Colonial Art" (1999), "Remarkable Collection: Art, History, and the National Museum" (2006), and "Past Peripheral: Curation in Southeast Asia" (2008). Asian Cultural Council grantee (2010).
