Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore
The region's only museum devoted to the civilisations, arts and culture of Asia, spanning collections from Southeast Asia, China, South Asia and the Islamic world of West Asia, and tracing the diverse cultural roots of modern Singaporeans across ten galleries with contemporary design, multimedia and interactive zones.
Its collection began with pieces inherited from the colonial Raffles Library and Museum (mostly Southeast Asian ethnological material), later expanding into West Asia and South Asia in the 1990s through acquisitions, donations and loans.
As an ASEMUS portal for communication with other museums worldwide, the ACM uses the network for shared preservation and cultural exchange, education, research and future partnerships.
