3rd SEAMEO SPAFA Conference on Southeast Asian Archaeology

SPAFACON2019, held at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok, 17-21 June 2019, organized by SEAMEO SPAFA (Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts) with Thailand's Fine Arts Department. Conference sessions ran Monday-Wednesday, an optional site-visit day followed on Thursday, with workshops and meetings on Friday.

Southeast Asia's only locally-initiated international archaeology conference series, held every three years (previously Chonburi 2013, Bangkok 2016), growing from 120 to 220 participants, with country reports from all 11 Southeast Asian nations. Topics include underwater cultural heritage, rock art, archaeology education, and emerging research in Myanmar and Singapore. Sessions were open to proposals through 31 October 2018, with a general call for papers to follow in November 2018. Details at seameo-spafa.org/conference2019/.
