Virtual Collection of Asian Masterpieces

Update: In May 2013 the newly redesigned online museum was launched and re-branded as the Virtual Collection of Asian Masterpieces.

Why?

The Virtual Collection of Asian Masterpieces (VCM) is about sharing. Objects that are physically far apart and spread out in museum collections all over the Eurasian continent are brought together in the virtual world.

What?

The VCM is collection of Masterpieces of Asian cultural heritage from collections in Asian and European museums. Images and texts are provided by curators of participating museums; the project is for museums and by museums. Besides an objects database, the VCM also features exhibitions and research projects. A Calendar of Events provides information about temporary exhibitions in the participating museums.
