Since the mid-19th century, mainly European researchers and collectors have gathered materials and documentation about the island of Sumatra. This project aimed to synthesise the available information on objects, photos and archive materials in European museums and make them easily available for the island populations and for the people in Indonesia and Asia.
Exchange of Techniques to Preserve the Shared Heritage
This project explores the approaches that will enable museum professionals from different countries to work together in strengthening and developing conservation skills and knowledge. The project aspires to expand programmes that consolidate national and international links and further intensify the ASEMUS network. The proposed programme to be developed in partnership with cultural institutions in Thailand, Sweden, Malaysia, The Netherlands and Singapore.
