Free Online Course: Behind the Scenes at the 21st Century Museum

A free 6-week FutureLearn course, "Behind the Scenes at the 21st Century Museum," launched 1 June (2015), exploring how modern museums shape public engagement — who decides what museums display and whose stories they tell, how visitors respond emotionally to objects and spaces, and how museums can serve social justice, human rights, health and wellbeing.

Created by the School of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester with National Museums Liverpool, and led by Dr. Suzanne MacLeod, the course targeted prospective museum studies students, museum volunteers and practitioners, offering completion certificates.
