Vietnam Museum of Fine Arts, Hanoi

A national museum in a former French girls' boarding school blending French colonial architecture with traditional Vietnamese communal-house elements, open to the public since 1966. It presents both contemporary fine art (paintings, sculpture) and traditional forms (religious sculpture, folk painting, ceramics), tracing Vietnamese artistic and historical development through the 20th century.

Run by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism across six departments (Research and Collection, Exhibition and Education, Collection Management, Conservation, General Administration/External Relations, Security), with a Space for Children's Creativity, storage, library and conservation centre. Open daily 8:30-17:00.

Permanent collection: over 20,000 works, about 3,000 on display, across six themes — prehistoric arts, 11th-19th century arts, early 20th century to present, traditional applied arts, folk arts, and ceramics.
