Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, Thailand

In 2003, Queen Sirikit of Thailand asked to use a vacant building on the Grand Palace grounds for a new textile museum; King Bhumibol Adulyadej granted the 1870 Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building, long the Ministry of Finance office. It was fully remodeled into a modern museum — new lobby, galleries, storage, education studio, library, lecture hall, and Thailand's first dedicated textile conservation lab — while preserving its original façade and interior details.

Mission: collect, display, preserve and educate on textiles from Southeast, South and East Asia, with special emphasis on royal-court textiles connected to Queen Sirikit.
