Melody World Wax Museum, India

Located in the royal city of Mysore, the Melody World Wax Museum displays over 1200 musical instruments from all over the world, along with over 100 life-size wax statues in their respective traditional native clothes. The building is a 100 year old heritage house.

This unique museum also displays some rare and priceless antique musical instruments of India. Established in October 2010, the Melody World Wax Museum displays and speaks of the rich musical instruments’ culture and heritage of India and the world. The collection of musical instruments is rapidly growing with the ongoing procurement process.

The Melody World Wax Museum is a member of ICOM (International Council of Museums), CIMCIM (International Committee for Museums and Collections of Instruments and Music) and AMIS.

Permanent collections: Musical instruments are arranged in the following categories, along with life-size wax statutes: Stone Age; Indian village; South Indian; North Indian; North East Indian; Punjabi (Indian); Jazz; Australian Aborigine; Latin American; Brass section; African; Arab and Middle East; and Modern rock band.
