International Workshop on Flexible Materials in Asian Collections

The meeting in Kuala Lumpur was a joint arrangement between the National Museum of Malaysia, Asia Europe Foundation (ASEF), ICCROM and the National Museums of World Culture, Sweden. It was organised as a three-weeks training course on ’Flexible Materials in Asian Collections, Exchange of Approaches to Conservation’for 20 participants from Asia and Europe. The meeting was a great success and there is willingness to launch similar courses on other kinds of material categories under the umbrella of sharing knowledge and expertise on the joint cultural heritage. An e-mail list among the participants in Kuala Lumpur will constitute a mini-network of conservators inside ASEMUS.
