Nguyễn Thị Bích Vân

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Bich VanMs. Nguyễn Thị Bích Vân is the Director of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, in Hanoi, an ASEMUS member.

She started working at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in 1987, right after graduating from the Hanoi University of Culture, Museum and Heritage Faculty. Therefore, she was one of the Museum’s first members of staff and has witnessed its development since. Her career at the Museum involved different positions before becoming its dynamic Director in 2009.

Van has been one of pioneers who renovated the Museum, turned it into a socially-interactive centre and a popular place for women, as well as an attraction included among the top 25 museums in Asia, the top 10 museums in Vietnam, and the “Top Vietnam Attraction” in two consecutive years (2015 and 2016).

Getting community members involved, and especially disadvantaged women, in the Museum’s work is her first priority, something which makes the Vietnamese Women’s Museum a special and unique institution.
