Lê Thị Thúy Hoàn, Head of Department of International Cooperation, The Vietnamese Women’s Museum

Hoàn has just joined The Vietnamese Women’s Museum, after having worked for 18 years in other museums in Hanoi – Vietnam Revolution Museum, and the Vietnam National Museum of History. She is responsible for international cooperation and project development, and has been dealing with various exhibitions in collaboration with foreign museums and embassies located in Hanoi, Viet Nam. She is also working on projects to get support from NGOs in order to improve her museum’s activities.

The Vietnamese Women’s Museum is one of the best museums in Viet Nam that has gained the interest and support from many different organisations and institutions. As a gender Museum, it presents the cultural diversity of the country as well as the significant contribution of Vietnamese women to the nation. Being a new member of ASEMUS, the museum expects to have more opportunities to introduce itself to museums from Europe and Asia, exchange experiences and to set up cooperation with different museums. Historically, the museum has organised special exhibitions abroad and has also been the host for travelling exhibitions from different countries. Hoan hopes that she could expand this cooperation not only on exhibitions but also on other activies such as: education, conservation, training programmes.

Graduated from Culture Study Institution for her Ph D, Hoàn has written more than 50 articles on museum work and cultural diversity.

She expects to introduce ASEMUS to museums in Viet Nam and to be involved more in ASEMUS’ activities.
