International Symposium: “The Future of Museums and Participation” | Korea

The Future of Museums and Participation

The National Museum of Korea and the Korean National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Korea) are organising an international symposium entitled ‘The Future of Museums and Participation’, which will be held in Seoul on 15 May.

Involving world-renowned-speakers from several world regions, the symposium will discuss possible paths for the future development of museums, around issues including convergence with the information technologies, relationships with audiences and the significance of museum buildings.

The event is organised as an opening conference of the Korean Museum Association’s 9th General Assembly, which will take place between 15 and 17 May.

The international symposium “The Future of Museums and Participations” is one of the events marking the 10th anniversary of the reconstruction of the National Museum of Korea, since it opened to the public in Yongsan, Seoul, in 2005.

Simultaneous interpretation between Korean, English and Japanese will be provided. Registration for this event is free.
