10th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions

The Raymond Lemaire Centre for Conservation and the Civil Engineering Department of the Catholic University Leuven, with the support of the UNESCO Chair on Preventive Conservation, Maintenance and Monitoring of the Monuments and Sites, are organising the 10th edition of the International Conference on Structural Analysis of Historical Constructions (SAHC2016). The conference will be held in Leuven, Belgium, between 13 and 15 September 2016.

The theme of the conference is “Anamnesis, Diagnosis, Therapy, Controls”, which emphasises the importance of all steps of a restoration process in order to obtain a thorough understanding of the structural behaviour of built cultural heritage.

Research papers are invited for presentation and poster sessions on general topics, including preventive conservation; foundation and geotechnical problems; structural assessment and intervention of archaeological sites; theory and practice of conservation; repair and strengthening techniques; rehabilitation, re-use and valorisation of cultural heritage buildings; case studies, etc.

In addition, six specific themes have also been identified, as explained hereafter:

1. Innovation and heritage

2. Preventive conservation

3. Computational strategies

4. Certification and standardisation

5. Values and sustainability

6. Subsoil interaction

The call for abstract submission is open until 10 July 2015.
